Looking for an adventure without having to go far? If you haven’t heard of this spot—less than two hours from Guadalajara—we’ll tell you all about the Presa de la Vega in Teuchitlán.
It is an ancient lagoon in the municipality of Teuchitlán that served as a base for farming until colonization. There were attempts to use the soil for farming, but this did not work due to its saline properties.
It wasn’t until between 1952 and 1956 that the lagoon was converted into a dam to meet the area’s irrigation and energy needs. We’ll tell you more!
