If you don’t have plans for this weekend yet , here’s a wonderful, free, and outdoor option: the 2026 Tonalá Kite Festival.
An afternoon where the sky will be filled with kites, music, and activities for all ages.
The event will take place on Sunday, May 3, starting at 4:00 p.m. at Cerro de la Reina, one of Tonalá’s most iconic landmarks.
In addition to watching kites of all sizes and colors fly, there will also be contests and creative workshops to enjoy a lovely afternoon with the family.
Kite Festival in Tonalá: workshops, storytelling, and live music
During the event, there will be a kite-making workshop and contest, as well as storytelling and legends about Cerro de la Reina, and activities focused on recycling and water conservation.
There will also be live music featuring rap, urban son, acoustic duets, and local talent.
