One of Guadalajara’s most iconic venues will once again be filled with music this summer. The Paraninfo Enrique Díaz de León, a historic gem of the University of Guadalajara, reopens its doors.
It will host the first season of Noches de Paraninfo, a concert series that aims to breathe new artistic life into this historic venue.
Located inside the former Rector’s Office building—now home to the Museum of the Arts (MUSA)—the Paraninfo is a living museum.
Inside are two of the most representative works by the Jalisco muralist José Clemente Orozco: “The Creative and Rebellious Man, ” painted on the dome, and “The People and Their False Leaders, ” considered one of the most important murals of the Mexican muralist movement.
