From parks for long distances to tracks with specialized surfaces for speed training, check out the best places to run in Guadalajara.
Whether you prefer running among the trees in Los Colomos Forest, doing laps around the Metropolitan Park circuit, or doing interval training at a sports facility, here are the best spots for runners in the city.
Metropolitan Park

A safe and comfortable space, the outer loop is nearly five kilometers long , making it a great option for long-distance runs. The terrain is a mix of clay and pavement, ideal if you’re looking to reduce impact on your knees.
Akron Stadium Circuit

Frequented by triathletes, it features uphill and downhill sections, making it a great option if you’re training for a marathon. We recommend going very early in the morning or after sunset, as there isn’t much shade.
Los Colomos Forest

Surrounded by forest and fresh air. There are routes of approximately 3 and 5 kilometers, ideal whether you’re just starting out or already have a good pace. That said: it’s not a flat circuit. The route has quite a few ups and downs.
Bosque de la Primavera

Ideal for trail running and long Sunday runs, one of the most popular routes is “La Tecomata.” We recommend going with someone who already knows the route, because you can definitely get lost!
Huentitán Canyon

A major endurance challenge, the route is about 4.5 kilometers long but very steep, whether you’re going uphill or downhill, so get ready to push yourself.
Revolución Sports Complex

A space for speed work, interval training , and repetitions. The track is made of professional-grade tartan. Prior online registration is required. More information here.
López Mateos Sports Complex

Similar to the Revolución Sports Complex, it features a track perfect for speed training and areas for other disciplines. No registration required.
Recreational Trail

Only on Sundays. It’s a “flat asphalt” paradise. You can run from Zapopan to downtown Guadalajara. It’s very social.
Pablo Neruda Circuit

It’s an urban route very popular with runners. The median strip is well-maintained, though you should keep an eye out for passing buses.
Luis Quintanar Park

Another option for long distances: you can train in the park on the tartan track if you prefer a softer surface.
