Attention! Summer vacation will arrive sooner than expected. Today, Thursday, May 7, the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) announced the new end date for the 2025-2026 school year. Here’s more!
Classes were previously scheduled to end on July 15, 2026 ; however, due to the start of the World Cup and recent heat waves, it was decided to move the date up to June 5, 2026.
More information on the change in vacation dates according to the SEP
In its announcement, the SEP also highlighted other important dates to keep in mind:
- The final date for teachers will be June 12, 2026
- Teachers’ activities will resume on August 10, 2026, prior to the 2026-2027 school year
- There will be remedial learning sessions from August 17 to 28, 2026.
- The 2026-2027 school year will officially begin on August 31, 2026.
