This must-see July exhibition , titled “Niérika: Visions of Creation,” brings together 21 stunning works by José and Fidencio Benítez.
Father and son—Fidencio learned this technique from his father when he was just 12 years old. Today, he carries on his legacy and keeps alive a tradition that continues to be passed down from generation to generation.

The niérikas, or votive panels, are much more than decorative objects. Each work is an invitation to view the universe from a different perspective.
They feature deer, snakes, birds, peyote cacti, and landscapes that speak to the relationship between nature, spirituality, and the creation of the world
The pieces stand out for their intense colors. They are handcrafted using yarn and wax, a traditional technique.
