On August 27, there will be a partial lunar eclipse that can be observed from our city. To make the experience even more special, the Institute of Astronomy and Meteorology at the University of Guadalajara will open its facilities for a night of stargazing.
During the eclipse, the Earth’s shadow will cover much of the Moon, creating that characteristic reddish effect that makes these phenomena so spectacular.
In Guadalajara, the eclipse will become visible starting at7:23 p.m., while the best time to observe it will be at10:12 p.m. At that moment, it will reach its peak and cover approximately 94% of the Moon.
