One of the state’s most important festivals now has dates and venues set. From October 3 to 10, the Jalisco International Dance Festival will pay tribute to tradition and the arts.
It will feature venues in our city and its metropolitan area, as well as in various towns throughout the state.
Applications are now being accepted for participating projects. There is room for 26 groups in different categories.
The festival venues in our city will be theAlarife Martín Casillas Theater, theArt and Culture Forum, theDegollado Theater, theJosé Rolón Center for the Arts,and theRibera Center for Culture and the Arts.

How to Participate in the Jalisco International Dance Festival
The State Department of Culture has already opened registration, which will remain open until the very last minute on Sunday, July 26.
These are the categories and durations:
- 7 full-length pieces with a minimum duration of45 minutes.
- 8 short pieces lasting between15 and 25 minutes.
- 2 emerging works aimed at creators in the early years of their careers, with a duration of between25 and 35 minutes.
- 8 video dance performances featuring audiovisual works ranging from5 to 15 minutes in length.
- 1 workshopfocused on body-based research and methodologies, with a minimum duration of 20 hours.
What if I’m from another state and want to participate?
There’s no problem. In addition to the financial support that the selected projects will receive, the festival will also provide support for national travel, lodging, and meals for up to six members per project.
If you’re interested in taking part in this year’s festival, you’ll need to fill out the registration form available on the official website of the Jalisco Ministry of Culture.
All proposals will be evaluated by a committee of dance specialists, and the results will be announced onAugust 17. The deadline to register projects isJuly 26.
