The World Cup atmosphere is already starting to be felt in Guadalajara, and one of the most common questions will be how to get to Akron Stadium as easily as possible during the matches.
Although the venue is located far from the city center, there will be various transportation options.
From public transit routes to ride-sharing options, here’s a quick guide.
The first thing you need to know is that the parking lot will be entirely reserved for FIFA use, so there will be no access for private vehicles.
How to get to Akron Stadium During the 2026 World Cup
Park & Ride
The Park & Ride service will be one of the main options for getting to Akron Stadium during the 2026 World Cup. The process involves leaving your car at one of the 10 designated locations —such as the Telmex Auditorium, Expo Guadalajara, Plaza Patria, or Chapultepec—and taking a bus directly to the stadium.
To use this service, you must have a pre-registration and a match ticket, as access will not be granted without both. The cost is $500 pesos per person, subject to availability, so we recommend purchasing in advance . Tickets can be purchased on this website.
Public transportation
Another option is to take the Periférico Macrobús and get off at the stop closest to Akron Stadium, called “Estadio Chivas.” From there, you’ll need to walk about 15 minutes to the stadium via the pedestrian access.
On the way out, the buses tend to be much more crowded, so some people prefer to wait a while near the stadium before heading back. It’s also common to use this option to get a little further away from the area and then order a ride-hailing service, such as Uber or DiDi.
Uber, Didi, and taxis
If you plan to use Uber, DiDi, or a taxi, it’s best to walk toward Periférico, as there won’t be an official pick-up and drop-off zone next to Akron Stadium. Plus, walking a short distance from the stadium can help you avoid excessively high dynamic fares after the matches end.
Most people walk between 7 and 15 minutes along the “Chivas” pedestrian walkway until they reach the gas station area or the “Estadio Chivas” station on Mi Macro Periférico, where there is usually better cell service and it’s easier to find available drivers.
