If you love to read, mark these dates on your calendar because one of the most anticipated events of the summer is back. The 5th Guadalajara Grand Book Sale will bring together publishers, bookstores, and distributors offering thousands of titles at special prices.
From July 31 to August 9, 2026, the Historic Center will once again become the gathering place for those looking to expand their library without breaking the bank. You’ll find books with discounts of 40% or more, along with a cultural program for the whole family.
The event will take place in front of the Plaza de Armas, with free admission. A perfect plan for the month of August!

This fifth edition will feature 100 booths offering a wide selection of books in various genres and for all ages, ranging from literature and essays to children’s books, comics, and graphic novels.
In addition, this year there will be five booths run by independent publishers and bookstores, invited by the Guadalajara Department of Culture.
During the ten days of the sale, there will also be more than 50 literary and cultural activities, including presentations, workshops, talks, performances, and more.
If you’ve been waiting for the perfect time to buy discounted books, this is one of the best opportunities of the year.
