More about the equinox in Guachimontones

This archaeological site, located just over an hour from Guadalajara, has become one of the favorite places to welcome spring.
Guachimontones is home to one of the most impressive archaeological complexes in western Mexico. It is famous for its circular pyramids, unique in Mesoamerica, and for having been part of a city that included ceremonial areas, ball courts, obsidian workshops, and residential spaces.
The complex also houses the Guachimontones Phil Weigand Interpretive Center, a museum that helps visitors better understand the history, natural environment, and culture of this ancient settlement.
Admission to the site is affordable, and there are usually discounts for students, teachers, and seniors, as well as free admission for children.
