If you’ve also said, “I’m not going to cry,” right before “Married Life” from *Up* starts, this concert is here to put you to the test with violins, violas, cellos, and zero emotional mercy. Candlelight: Disney Love Songs comes to Guadalajara with a live music program where a string quartet will reinterpret Disney songs about romance, memories, and family —all inside Gran Casa Xalisco, a restored mansion in downtown Guadalajara that retains its colonial character without feeling like an untouchable museum.

What to expect from Candlelight: Disney Love Songs?
The program isn’t just about princes, princesses, and endings with a castle in the background (although, let’s face it, “My Prince Will Come” from *Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs* also has its place in the Disney sentimental archive). Here, the journey begins with songs like “A Whole New World” from *Aladdin* and “Beauty and the Beast” from the film of the same name.
And then comes the part where you’ll want to bring a handkerchief (or at least pretend you got dust in your eye). “Dos Oruguitas” from *Encanto* explores family love, loss, and memory; “Recuérdame” from *Coco* shifts in meaning throughout the film until it becomes a sung promise; and “Cuando Ella Me Amaba” from *Toy Story 2* recalls Jessie and Emily with a nostalgia that doesn’t need a villain to be heartbreaking.
There will also be room for anthems from other films such as *The Lion King*, *Tarzan *, and *Hercules*. For 60 minutes, Candlelight will bring these songs off the screen and into the heart of a candlelit hall, with string arrangements that allow each track to be heard in greater detail, without losing that immediate “I know this one even though I haven’t played it in years” effect.

A historic mansion in Downtown Guadalajara where you can sing softly (or at least try to)
There’s no need to market it as a Disney palace; Gran Casa Xalisco works best when understood for what it is: a restored historic mansion at 61 Nicolás Régules Street in downtown Guadalajara, with colonial character and an atmosphere that’s more intimate than monumental. At this string concert, you’re not entering a massive hall, but rather a downtown home transformed into a stage for live music by candlelight.
That’s where Candlelight really shines. For an hour, the quartet takes songs that many recognize from the very first phrase and translates them into the sounds of violins, viola, and cello—without a screen or movie theater popcorn in sight. Disney in a restored mansion in Guadalajara: far more likely than a flying carpet—and much easier to book with tickets.
For a limited time, the best Disney love songs join the thousands of Candlelight candles in this live concert designed to relive (and, above all, fall in love with) our childhood. Of course, seating is limited, so we recommend booking tickets in advance.
