It is possible to see bioluminescence near Guadalajara, and you don’t need to travel far. Just a few hours from the city, there is a guided tour that combines beaches, nature, and a unique nighttime experience: paddling on the sea while the water lights up with every movement.
This trip is organized by the Guadalajara-based agency Bionatours, experts in nature tourism, and is not to be missed. You will visit some of the most beautiful beaches in Jalisco and Banderas Bay.
The getaway is just a weekend long and you will visit places such as Puerto Vallarta, Los Arcos National Marine Park, as well as some hidden beaches, such as Colomitos, Madagascar, and Caballo.
Of course, you’ll also experience the most magical part: a nighttime paddleboard tour to see bioluminescence in Los Arcos de Vallarta.
This natural phenomenon is something you have to experience. It occurs thanks to marine microorganisms that emit light when they come into contact with the movement of the water, and they are a true visual spectacle!
