Can you imagine Pinocchio transformed into a design piece? The Zapopan Art Museum (MAZ) will host an exhibition that reinterprets Carlo Collodi’s famous character through Italian art, design, and creativity.
It is titled “My Dear Pinocchio…” and brings together 62 previously unseen pieces created by Italian designers and graphic artists specifically for this project. The exhibition was conceived by the ADI Design Museum in Milan and is curated by Giulio Iacchetti.
The exhibition is coming to Zapopan as part of the activities for Italy, the Guest of Honor at the 2026 Guadalajara International Book Fair. Be sure to add this exhibition to your November plans.
What will you find at this Pinocchio exhibition in Guadalajara?

The collection consists of 31 design objects and 31 graphic works. It will feature toys, illustrations, and everyday objects inspired by the character’s appearance and adventures.
You’ll also find a historical section featuring vintage book covers and drawings that show how Pinocchio has evolved since his first appearance in literature in 1883.
An interesting detail is that the original installation is shaped like a rotating carousel. It is inspired by the Land of Toys and Mangiafuoco’s circus, settings from the story.
