Would you like to run at night with neon lights? This weekend, there will be a 5-kilometer race in Zapopan that, in addition to being a night race, will be completely free and open to 2,000 participants.
The 2026 Neon Race is part of Zapopan’s “Races for Everyone” Series and will take place on Saturday, October 3, at Parque de las Niñas y los Niños in the Tepeyac neighborhood.
The start is scheduled between 8:00 p.m. and 8:15 p.m., with runners starting in waves. The organizers note that after 8:15 p.m., runners will no longer be allowed to start for safety reasons.
What will the Neon Race be like?

The course will be 5 kilometers long, starting and finishing at Parque de las Niñas y los Niños, across from the Estadio de los Charros de Jalisco. The time limit to complete the race will be one hour.
The route will pass through several streets in the area, including Boulevard Panamericano, Santa Lucía, Dr. Luis Farah, Enrique Díaz de León, Obreros de Cananea, and the Glorieta del Maíz area, before returning to the park.
In addition to the night race, participants will receive a packet that includes an official race number, a cloakroom service, water and sports drink stations, safety personnel along the route, medical services at the finish line, restrooms, refreshments, and a commemorative medal.
